Workforce Development
The Norfolk Area Chamber of Commerce recognizes the importance of a high quality, well trained, available workforce. The Chamber supports policy and legislation that helps enhance our workforce and that ensures a safe and effective workplace for all Nebraska workers.
The Norfolk Area Chamber of Commerce will oppose legislation that adversely affects Nebraska’s favorable labor management relations or its excellent business climate.
- Comparable Worth — support the free market system that determines individual compensation rather than a government imposed “comparable worth”.
- Employment-at-Will — support the rights of employers to hire and terminate and oppose laws and regulations that restrict those rights.
- Right-to-Work — support legislation that guarantees the right of an individual to choose whether or not to join a union; oppose any attempts to weaken or eliminate the State’s right-to-work Constitutional provision or statutory agency-shop provision.
